Medicare Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
What is PPO?
A PPO Plan is a type of Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) offered by a private insurance company. PPOs have networks of doctors, other healthcare providers, and hospitals.
- You pay less if you go to providers and facilities that belong to the plan’s network
- You can generally to to out-of-network providers for covered services, but you will usually pay more.
*PPOs must provide you with the same benefits, rights, and protections as Original Medicare, but they may do so with different rules, restrictions, and costs. Some PPOs offer additional benefits, such as vision and hearing care.
